Apple 2021–2024

Shipped to Hundreds of Millions

Product lead on Apple Pay, Wallet & Card features used daily by millions worldwide. Three shipped experiences that demonstrate systems thinking at scale.

Apple Card

Card Reissue Experience

Designed the first-ever card reissue flow for Apple Card's 5th anniversary. Millions of titanium cards needed replacement—the experience had to feel effortless, not administrative.

01

Full credit check & identity verification for both parties

02

Joint liability agreement—legal copy reviewed across 3 teams

03

Shared credit line with independent spending visibility

04

Removal flow: what happens to the credit line, the balance, the history?

01

Age-gated enrollment—different flows for 13-17 vs 18+

02

Spending limits set by owner, visible to participant in real-time

03

Daily Cash earned independently—but billed to the owner

04

What happens when a minor turns 18? Auto-transition or new application?

01

Credit bureau reporting for participants—opt-in, not automatic

02

Building credit with someone else's line—regulatory minefield

03

Late payment by owner impacts participant's credit—how do you communicate that?

04

Designed to feel empowering, not terrifying. Trust is the product.

What Leading These Taught Me

🔍
Constraint Breeds Clarity

Apple's design language is tight. Working within it taught me that good design isn't adding—it's finding the essential.

Systems Over Screens

A feature isn't a UI—it's a system. Card Reissue touched notifications, Wallet, Mail, and physical fulfillment.

🎯
Edge Cases Are the Product

Family Sharing surfaced dozens of edge cases. The "happy path" was 20% of the work.

💡
PM + Design = Better

Being close to both strategy and craft made me a better collaborator. Now I want to be closer to the craft.

Phase 2 — Canvas

What if the AI understood your music the way a director does?

Same input — but now the AI doesn't just pick a style. It studies how real cinematographers think. It learns their philosophy — natural light, handheld drift, frozen symmetry — and generates footage scored to your music's emotional arc. No filters. No templates.

Not a filter. Not a template. A system that understands how the world's best cinematographers think — and applies that philosophy to your music.

Founder & Designer 2020-2022

Dive

Originally "Drift" — until we got a cease and desist from a $1B B2B company. Best marketing we ever got.

I designed and built a platform that reimagined how people discover, store, and share knowledge from the internet. Save the golden snippets — text, video clips, links — into shareable threads with upvotes, comments, and profiles. The unbundling of Reddit meets the future of search. The AI knowledge thesis, four years before ChatGPT.

The Problem

The internet gives you everything. Then you lose it all.

🚜

You, trying to remember
where you saved that thing

D
Dival Banerjee @divalbanerjee

"Papers, snippets, links etc, just get lost really quickly and putting things in shared folders doesn't work because the original context is lost"

The Vision

What if knowledge connected itself?

Dive turned the internet into a personal library with a social layer. Highlight text, clip videos, save links — everything flows into threads with upvotes, comments, and profiles. Tags link knowledge bidirectionally like Roam. Community curation surfaces the best content. Single player to multiplayer — storage, then social collaboration, then the future of search.

What Happened

People didn't just use it. They told everyone.

$120K Raised from angels who saw it once
3,500 Waitlist signups, zero marketing spend
100 Beta users in the first month, all organic

People Said Things Like This

"It feels like the best of Twitter meets the best of Medium. Haven't been this excited about a product in a long time."

@nicaelfer

"I get pitched a lot but I'm rarely, if ever, completely bought over by both the idea + founder. Mark my words. It's going to be big."

@yaboroytuts

"Been wishing for a Threads but for Everything."

@amytang

"I got to read a @joindive thread this morning. Now I'm going to have to adjust my whole workflow."

The Ending

We were right.
We were just early.

Two years after we built Dive, ChatGPT launched and proved the thesis: AI-powered knowledge tools would change everything. We had the vision. The timing wasn't ours.

The best thesis can lose to timing

We were building AI knowledge tools before GPT-3 existed. Four years later, it became a $100B category.

Design is what made people stay

Zero marketing spend, 3,500 waitlist. The product sold itself because it felt right. Craft is distribution.

I can build the whole thing

I designed every screen, built the frontend, ran user research, raised $120K, and shipped to real users. Alone, then with a small team.

How I Think About Design

Not just what it looks like. How it works, why it works, and what happens when it breaks.

Process

Every project follows the same loop

1 Understand

What's the real problem? Not the brief — the actual friction.

2 Explore

Three directions minimum. Kill the obvious one fast.

3 Build

Prototype in code. Design tools lie about motion and feel.

4 Ship & Learn

Real users > internal reviews. Every time.

Beliefs

Things I've learned are true

Clarity over cleverness. If it needs explanation, simplify it.

Motion communicates. Every animation should mean something.

Consistency compounds. Small decisions create system-wide coherence.

Craft is distribution. When a product feels right, people share it.

How I Build

Design + code, no handoff

Design Figma, Framer, After Effects
Frontend React, Next.js, Swift UI
Systems Design tokens, component APIs, documentation
Motion CSS animations, Lottie, custom easing

I prototype in code because design tools lie about motion and feel.

The dots always connect afterwards.

At 8, I sat at a piano. At 10, I was producing music. At 22, I became the first Associate Product Manager—ever—at Apple.

The path wasn't linear. I cold-emailed 200 people. One replied. I started two companies—a robotics startup and a knowledge platform. I raised $120K and nearly dropped out of college.

Now I ship products to hundreds of millions. But I never stopped being that kid at the piano—the one who believes technology should feel like music. Intuitive. Emotional. Alive.
